Remoting FAQ
What is Remoting
Remoting is a way to participate in a
Bardo Safari without actually being online, or actually being
logged into the safari game.
Do I need a computer?
No, you don't need a computer to do this.
Remoting is a way to participate in a Bardo Safari without actually being online.
Do I need any other special equipment?
Yes, you will need a Remoting Charm. You
can download and print one free from the charm page.
What benefits can I expect from Remoting?
It's hard to put a limit on the benefits you can
expect. In fact, it would be much better if you did not limit yourself
in this way. We can tell you that folks have been reporting
benefits from "feeling more awake" to "being more on" and even "finding it
easier to remember my true self as a spiritual being." However, other people
have been more impressed by the palpable sense of connection to the
work circle and other by the energizing of their own work efforts during
that time. There are many ways to enhance this effect. We shall be exploring
that during the upcoming months.
Can I sign-up to remote a month of safaris at once?
You are welcome to remote one or more safaris a day
every day of the month. But, it will be necessary to sign up for each
safari individually. Part of the reason for this is the affirmative effect
of the sign-up process. Each time you sign-up you are making a
commitment to be there and to participate. It would be too easy
to sign-up for 30 safaris at once, then fall into utter sleep and have
it totally slip your mind that you were supposed to be doing something
special during that time. Signing up shortly (within 24 to 48 hours)
before a safari dramatically improves your possibility of full
participation.
Why to you send me an acknowledgement after each safari I remote?
This is not accidental, and it is not done for social reasons.
Practically speaking it lets you know that we did not forget about your
Remoting of the safari. It also serves the purpose of closing the circle.
All communuication should be properly handled as a circle -- a kind of
cyclic ebb and flow. However, the most important reason is a magical reason.
The acknowledgement serves as a very deliberate completion of the Remoting process.
The convenant between the Safari POG and all those Remoting the Safari is
completed with the simple act of acknowledgement. Even given the multitudes
of spam filters and the growing uncertainty that an email will reach its
final destination, the act of pressing that send button completes the cycle.
What if I don't have email, how will you send the acknowledgement.
In this case, we will rely upon that ancient process known
as sending mail. Yep, we'll put a postcard or envelop in the outbox and
let the postman do his or her thing. And before you ask, we'll answer
the next obvious question. Is there a fee for these postcards or letters.
Fortunately there is none at this time. For the moment (knock on wood),
most folks have email and donations are sufficient to cover the mailing costs
for the folks that don't have email.
May I donate to this project?
Of course you may. We are a non-profit and this type of
project is made possible by the kind donations of folks such as yourself.
