GODD Models -- Getting Started
The G.O.D.D. Engine uses the md2 model format. This is a retro format and works
just fine for our purposes.
If you wish to get involved in the creation of models, you will need a
few programs. Most are free or cheap.
- Wings3D
- This is a modeling program. It works well for creating low poly models.
If you know of a better program, then use that. If you don't already have your
fingers trained for a modeling program, then give this a try. It is very
intuitive (after a learning curve).
- MilkShape
- This prog is used to convert obj files exported from Wings3D into MD2 format.
It is also useful for creating animations.
- MD2 Viewer
- Useful for viewing models. Can give a reality check when models seem to be
going haywire in G.O.D.D.
