XP Runs
The XP Runs are designed for one thing and one thing only -- to get
the Gorebagg character to level 99.
Some folks have heard rumors that Baal Runs are good for magic find. XP Runs are for experience, not for magic find.
And furthermore, the XP Runs are designed to get the Gorebagg character leveled -- not yours.
That means, if it is required that your character jump on a grenade to prevent
the Gorebagg character from dying, then that is what you do. This said, you can rest assured that if you participate in the XP Runs you will end up with a character leveled higher than you would ever have reached on your own.
XP Runs require high levels of cooperation and communication. This is a good thing. We could all benefit from refining these.
XP Runs require high levels of attention and presence in present time. This is good. We all would love to have more of those.
XP Runs require the ability to persist in states of high awareness and alertness. Again, this is a good thing.
XP Runs require the ability to put the welfare (and goals) of the group above your own. Need I say more?
All of the above requirements for success in XP Runs are just the qualities we
wish to develop in ourselves.
It is impossible to become a great skier in theory. You have to actually go
on the snow and ski. There are amazing things you can do to prepare. But there
is no substitute for actual experience actually experienced -- personal experience, personally experienced.
In terms of ordinary Diablo type requirements, consider the following:
- You need to be able to
enter Worldstone Level 2. That means you need to have killed Ancients in Hell.
- You need a properly built character. Xxaxx will review your character build
with you. If the character is misbuilt, then it will be a liablity to the
group and thus should be rebuilt. That does not mean that character would be useless.
There are plenty of support tasks that even
the worst built character in history can help with.
The rest is discipline, effort, experience, and what we call pencil-mileage. If you are interested, let us know.
